The state is: Texas

I am 18 and work part time at a local movie theatre. We currently use weekly schedules. Today I was scheduled to work at 6:00 and had known I was scheduled for today for about a week. I clocked in 5 minutes before 6 and began to work. 15 minutes later my manager stopped me and told me to go home because their were already too many employees and too few customers for tonight. Someone told me that i was entitled to 2 hours of pay for showing up when i was scheduled and then being sent home, is this true?

    • If so, it would be due to a company policy, as no law requires it.

    • There are states where this would be true but Texas is not one of them.
