I am going to leave my job and have a bunch of Paid Time Off hours accrued but unused. In my company, there is only Paid Time Off rather than vacation, sick days, etc. My company (which has offices all over the US) handbook states that they will not pay out accrued but unused Paid Time Off hours when an employee terminates. However, I'm wondering if there is a law in New Jersey which requires that I be compensated for accrued but unused Paid Time Off when I resign? I'm not sure if New Jersey has a no use it or lose it policy like California.

    • NJ does not have the same law as California, re: payment of paid time off benefits at the time of termination.
